Compassion Center Food Distribution
How Distribution Works
Our food distribution takes place every Tuesday and Friday.
To receive food, individuals must first collect a ticket at 10:00 AM. There are two designated lines for ticket distribution: one for seniors and individuals with disabilities, which forms in front of the Compassion Center, and another for all other participants, which forms in the median of Broadway St between Eastern Ave and Bank Street.
No paperwork or documentation is required to receive a ticket. Due to limited food supplies, we only distribute a set number of tickets per day.
Once you receive a ticket, we ask that you leave the area and return at 12:30 PM when the food distribution begins. This helps prevent crowding and ensures a smooth process. Tickets are numbered, and distribution follows the assigned ticket order. The senior and disability line is served first, followed by the general line.
All participants must bring their own bag or cart to carry their food. We do not accept trash bags or cardboard boxes, but push carts, pull carts, and recyclable grocery bags are allowed. Be prepared to stand for an extended period, dress appropriately for the weather, and understand that we cannot move anyone ahead in line to accommodate personal schedules.
